Abstract

The problem in this study is to describe whether using the Snowball Trhowing learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in introductory social studies courses. The purpose of this study was to describe students' thinking ability in introductory social studies courses using the snowball Trhowing learning model. The research method used is descriptive method, the form of the research is classroom action research, the nature of the research is collaborative, the data analysis technique used is by looking at the level of change in the percentage of critical thinking skills. The results show that the Snowball Trhowing learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills. Can be seen 1). The ability of critical thinking of students in introductory social studies courses using Snowbal Trhowing method in cycle 1 experienced a change of about 2-3%, students' critical thinking skills in introductory social studies courses using the Snowball Trhowing learning model in cycle II experiencedflat changes 4-5% 2). The learning outcomes of students in the Indonesian education history course using the first cycle tSnowball Trhowing learning model experienced a 4-5% change,the learning outcomes of cycle II students experienced a change of about 6-8% on average.
