PENGEMBANGAN KIT PRAKTIKUM GELOMBANG ELEKTROMAGNETIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SISWA SMA

Abstract

Development of physics experiment  kits and modules which are low cost, easy to use, and attractive are needed to be done. These kits and modules are intended to improve the process skills of high school students and understanding in science especially in optics. This research was aimed to design and make an optical kit based on diode laser for interference and diffraction experiments which develop the process skill high school students in understanding electromagnetic wave characteristics.   The kits and experiment modules for interference and diffraction consist of diode laser, a single slit , a diffraction grating with variation in slit number, translucent screen, and work sheets. The kit and modules have been used by 16 students majoring science at SMA Santa Maria Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. Validity and Practical test have been done by 6 physics teachers at the same high school. The results shows validity level of has 93,06  and practicality of  90,53 %. The results showed that the electromagnetic wave kit is very suitable for use in high school practicum.   Keywords : Interference and Difraction, Optical Kit, Process Skill, High School Level, diode laser
