Abstract

Malaysia adalah satu negara yang berdekatan dengan garisan khatulistiwa, sangat banyak dengan cahaya matahari dan hujan. Curah hujan tahunan Malaysia lebih kurang 3000 mm setahun dan ini menyumbang kepada risiko terjadinya tanah longsor melihat hujan adalah salah satu penyebab yang mengakibatkan terjadinya fenomena tanah longsor secara alami. Kajian ini dilakukan di kawasan tanah tinggi di Ulu Klang berdasarkan kepada tanah longsor yang ditemukan di kawasan ini sejak tahun 1993 hingga tahun 2008. Sebanyak 13 kejadian tanah longsor dianalisa, melihat pengaruh curah hujan terhadap kejadian tanah longsor adalah fokus dalam kajian ini. Kajian juga dilakukan kepada pengaruh hujan anteseden, hujan maksimum, durasi dan intensitas hujan serta hujan kumulatif. Sebanyak 7 hari hujan kumulatif di analisa dalam kajian ini guna melihat kaitan antara curah hujan terhadap tanah longsor yang terjadi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa hujan pada hari tanah longsor terjadi dan hujan anteseden kedua-duanya turut menyebabkan kepada terjadinya tanah longsor di Ulu Klang termasuk juga faktor manusia seperti penebangan hutan dan membangun struktur yang memberi tekanan berlebihan kepada tebing.
