THE EFFECT OF EXTENSION ON EMPOWERMENT TO INDEPENDENT SMALLHOLDER FARMERS IN PANGKALAN KURAS SUB-DISTRICT PELALAWAN DISTRICT

Abstract

The purpose of this were: (1) Describe the role of extension in cultivating rubber; (2) Describe the level of empowerment of farmers rubber; (3) Describe the level of achievement of the objectives of extension; (4)Analyze the effect of the role ofoutreach to the empowerment of farmers rubber; (5)Analyze the effect of the level of empowerment of farmers to achieve the goal of education. This research was conducted at the Sorek Dua and village Dungdangan Pangkalan Kuras Sub-district PelalawanDistrict and commencing April 2017 until January 2017. The samples were done in purposive sampling with the number of respondents was 120. In answering the first goal, second, and third of this study using a Likert's scale Summated Rating (SLR) while to answer the fourth goal and fifth using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with AMOS. The results showed that (1) the role of agricultural extension education run quite a role; (2) the level of self-empowerment rubber farmers patterns quite helpless; (3) achievement of the objectives achieved classified counseling; (4) The role of education has a significant effect on the pattern of self-empowerment rubber farmers and empowerment of farmers' self-pattern rubber provides a very significant influence on the achievement of the extension.
