Abstract

The objectives of this study were to study: 1) to identify the rubber marketing of auction and conventional systems in Sentajo Raya sub-districts; 2) to identify the profile of rubber growers and conventional systems in Sentajo Raya sub-district 3) to analyze the marketing of auction and conventional rubber systems at Sentajo Raya sub-. The sample of farmers in this study amounted to 89 people consisting of 27 samples of auction farmers and 62 samples of conventional farmers. The results of the study illustrate before the auction market price is controlled by the wholesaler (toke). Conventional farmers are dominated by farmers who own land under 2 hectares. Profile of rubber farmers using auction marketing system that is 85.19 percent of men, productive age of 81.48 percent, average primary education, the number of family dependents 4 to 6 with percentage of 74.07 percent, farmers land ownership over 2 hectares with percentage from 100 percent, and 100 percent have long tenure and ownership status of farmers 16-20 years old farming with percentage 44,44 percent, 62 sample of conventional farmer 82,26 peria, productive farmer age 52 farmer with percentage 83,87 percent, 33 farmers who work as agricultural laborers on the land of others, there is no difference between the average merchant profit (toke), there is a difference between the average marketing cost of farmers, there is a difference between the average marketing margin, there is a difference between the average efficiency marketing, average
